insights discovery

.
i was sent on an Insights Discovery Course last Fri, where i learnt more about my character and working style, and that people with other character and working style exists and how to work with people who are different from me.

generally, there are 4 categories:

Blue - calm, cool, thinking, systematic, practical, precise, rigid, unspontaneous
Green - harmonious, people-oriented, pleasant, avoids conflicts, soft
Yellow - fun, creative, flexible, outgoing, impractical, disorganised
Red - efficient, structured, brief, fast, decisive, tough, demanding

this is what i think i am, top being most like, bottom being least like:

lols.

then there's this walkaround activity where everyone in the class indicates on the piece of paper pasted behind your backs what they think u are:

exactly what i think i am. hahaha.

before the class we already did an online questionaire, which is used to do up a personal profile, ie. what we truly are. this are my results:

fwahahaha. the graph on the left means that im consciously a more yellow then red person, but unintentionally im more red than yellow.

which kinda means that im unintentionally more bossy than i think im. LOL.

the profile has alot of other information like how to manage you and what not to do when communicating with u. my colleague boonz who sat beside me, had an interesting point and true point in this profile:

wahahahaha.

i think my profile is like 70% true lor, it's scary. lols.

then we were also asked to draw out what we think we were like at 10 years old, 10 years ago, now and 10 years later:

10 years old i was a primary school kid wearing polka dot uniform, 10 years ago i was in National JC air rifle school team (and Sabbie thought i was in NATIONAL air rifle team LOL), now im dreaming of buying Prada, 10 years later i hope i can open my own kopitiam... hurhur.

interesting course! ask your boss to sign u up for it too! www.telic-asia.com

limlim: oh i know! u're Michael Jackson??

burfdae dinner at Prego's

.
Beefie booked me a burfdae table at Prego's Fairmont Singapore! i always wanted to go there! hehe.

we ordered a set dinner each - 1 starter, 1 pasta, 1 main course, 1 dessert - $55 per pax.

complimentary pre-meal bread. not very yummy. reminds me of the hard-as-rock bagel in NYC. booooo~

starter: salmon salad or mushroom soup. i preferred the salad cuz the soup tasted too strong for my liking.

pasta: duck ragout spaghetti or arrabiata penne. the spaghetti was rough w an overall strong
chinese zhi char taste, penne was better but nothing extraordinary.

main course: suckling pig or cod fish.

cod fish was heavenly! my fav dish of the night! cooked to the right degree and not too fishy~~ awwww~~

oh we ordered an ala carte sausage pizza as well and it was mediocre. =_=

there's wayyyyy too much fat in the suckling pig for neither Beefie nor my palate. Beefie even had to go rinse his mouth after eating (but he still finished the whole plate duhhhh).

a slice of sweetie tiramisu each as dessert! nice! but not much alcohol taste. haha.

it's my burfdae! but Beefie never ask if there's any bday specials. i saw a group of servers singing happie burfdae to another girl further away, if it's just the singing, dont think i want anyways. hahaha.

service was really good and prompt at Prego's, the "door bitch" even offered to help us take multiple photos of the restaurant.

but hor, her photography skills not very good, pictures were either blur or didnt capture the background adequately. but 100 points for effort lah! lols.

in conclusion, i would say food was really disappointing, i will probably only go back for the cod fish IF i have sudden major cravings.

Beefie went Prego's before it renovated and said food was much better then, guess i caught it at the wrong timing. oh well~~~

oh oh bday pressies from Sabbie! it's a bra and a pair of yoga tights, both from Victoria Secrets. dont ask me why she bought those man, beats me too. hahahaha. oh she wrote a bday blogpost for me too! thanks lah, Fuss!

happie burfdae to meeeeeeeeee~~~~~

CST!

.

cant help but marvel yet again, at how much people love such an old fogey who slurs and cant stand straight.

dont get me wrong, i say tat with love!

there is a 2-part video in youtube where the Potong Pasir residents were basically just chanting "Potong Pasir! Chiam See Tong!" throughout the 30min video. that is the night that Mr Chiam arrived to thank the residents for their vote, i think.

they are also signing a petition for by-election in Potong Pasir.

people rush to shake his hand, though he wasnt even competent of giving a good handshake. i read that a supporter was so overwhelmed with tears by being able to shake Mr Chiam's hand.

even if most of them are just bored and crowd around just to watch a "show", at least half of them genuinely loves CST right? i dont tink PAP can even garner tat half? lols.

but if i were him, i will retire and not stand in this elections anymore. i would rather retire as an opposition who had stranglehold over a constituency for 27 years, instead of ending my political career by losing everything.

then again, he probably didnt retire because his many many supporters didnt want him to.

imagine he doesnt even have a proper room and thus had been holding his meet-the-people sessions in that shitty makeshift cubicle for the past 27 years.

his shitty table inside the shitty cubicle.

how much passion must a person have to make him hold on to that shitty cubicle/table/job for decades??? *claps with admiration*

i wish i had such ginormous passion in my job. LOL.

anyways. this is officially my favourite photo in the whole GE 2011:

hurhur. dont let us down in co-driving, Mr Low~~~

what an election!

.
the PAP came up with the GRC system to make it difficult for oppositions to get in, but now one opposition party finally managed to break through, resulting in PAP losing George Yeo.

losing George Yeo but got Tin Pei Ling! what a system. i would take Mr Yeo over TPL anytime! classic case of having a taste of your own medicine! boooooo~~

another classic happening to PAP is Sitoh Yih Pin's "等久就有": he lost to Mr Chiam See Tong twice, now to win by a mere 114 votes. *tsk tsk*

i feel so sad for Mr Chiam, he is such a great man with great passion for the people. i personally witnessed him willing his 76 years old frail battered-by-2strokes frame to the rally. but honestly im not surprised he failed.

this board will have to be taken down within the next 45 days. it's a nice board. sigh.

take the opportunity to have a good rest, Mr Chiam. keep in mind that many people still support u! including me!

actually on one hand, im happy that the Worker's Party is finally propelling us into a real democracy by winning the most number of seats in parliament ever, but at the same time cant help but worry for the future of Singapore.

cuz common sense says that the more faction u have within a government, the more unstable it will be.

i have a relative who is a high ranking official in the government, and i asked my dad why is she not selected to run for elections. and my dad said she definitely got noticed by PAP, but cuz her dad is a seasoned gambler, so that is probably why she didnt pass the "test".

well it would be safe to say that PAP does due diligence checks on all their candidates before fielding them, but we cant say that of the oppositions, can we?

the opposition candidates are probably secretly corrupted or something, but nobody has the capacity to check on them? i dont know for sure, just wondering. hmm. oh well.

by the way, im very impressed by The Online Citizen. it was already posting results even before the Elections Dept announcements!

i was telling my parents the results TOC posted and told them to take it with a pinch of salt, but it was all accurate! all hail new media!

saw this on TOC and finds it an interesting irony....

are u happy with the GE 2011 results??
.

Yam Ah Mee

.
u know the guy who announced all 27 GE results yesterday night?

Returning Officer of the Elections Dept.

super amusing to see some buzz over him online. there's even a club mix clip of him! LOL.

Mr Yam when he's younger, quite yandao hor??

do u know that he's a Harvard grad? held some high ranking position in LTA previously.

hahahaha.
.

thank goodness today is the last day

honestly getting quite sick of all the GE fever.

let me draw your attention to the PAP banner right outside my cluster of blocks:

u see, the day after nomination, the banner was just half that size.

can u see the 2 white tiny squarish thing beneath the banner? those are spotlights installed a day later, powered by nothing in sight. it was as if they planted some underground power cable beneath the banner overnight.

another day later, poof! the banner grew to the one above, twice its original size!

the old small one is now across the road, right beside the opposition's banner.

LOL im constantly amused by the types of GE antics they pull.

being a responsible Singaporean

is to research on your candidates!

im watching the rally videos of the candidates running for Pioneer SMC now!

Mr Cedric Foo reigned my area (previously under West Coast GRC) for the past 10 years, but honestly for all the 10 years i've been here i havent seen him once.

he listed the things he's done for Pioneer for the past 10 years, extension of MRT lines into Pioneer and Joo Koon, Jurong Point extension, air-conditioned bus interchange, Jurong SAFRA, Jurong Central Park, Jurong West Stadium...

true lah, i really did see alot of developments throughout the years, PAP did make ulu land Pioneer less pathetic.

but hor, Jurong Central Park ended up as a hei hei park, i dont even dare to go. Jurong West Stadium was built cuz previously it was a ulu muddy swamp and nobody wants to buy those HDB flats opposite it, the Stadium was built to entice people to buy.

Mr Foo also promised CCTVs in all Pioneer blocks.

but hor, CCTV is already installed in my block, just recently. did he install half the blocks before he realised it can be used as a promise during the GE so he stopped installing the other half??

Mr Steve Chia is the new competitor. well, Pioneer was never contested as far as i know, so he can be considered new competitor in that sense.

i finally met Mr Chia this morning at the cross junction right outside my cluster or blocks, shook his hand. i also met Cedric Foo this morning but no handshakes cuz he was talking to an auntie and an angmoh (u'll be surprised to know tat more angmohs are living in Pioneer now).

anyways, Mr Chia looks like a spunky and energetic man, all sunshine smiley. he's been in politics for at least 10 years, never formally won a seat before but still full of passion.

he seems pretty enthusiastic in replying messages voters left on his fb page too. did i mention that he was an NCMP 2001-2006 as he was the opposition member who received the highest vote in 2001 GE.

BUT! if u remember, in 2004, a scandal broke out where his wife found naked photos of his maid in his recycle bin and allegedly lodged a police report. he admitted that he took those photos but that the maid consented to it, the police dropped charges as they found no crime committed.

he also admitted to reporters that he has an "interest in nude photography" and apparently even showed reporters photos he took of himself naked. omggggggg.

even after 8 years i still remember okay?? but why nobody asked him about it this time round?? but hor, apparently the votes he received in 2006 GE was up 5% despite the scandal.

sighhhh on one hand i dont really wanna get a h*rny guy into parliament, but then he seems like one of the more decent opposition member this GE and i also feel like boosting the opposition's votes for PAP to stop being so complacent and dictorial.

howwwwwwwwww?
