funny fruit!

my relatives from JB brought this for my ah ma, from their own backyard (they own a palm oil plantation).

it tastes abit like mango but smoother, and it looks like an apple with a much thicker skin.

absolutely no idea what fruit it is, just have the feeling that i will get a diarrhoea from it. hahaha.

so some bloody person came up with the idea of having a baking competition, a couple chosen few from across all departments have to bring a self-made bakery creation to office every Monday.

Lao Niang kena saboh-ed by her boss, who is serving her tender notice now wtf.

anyways, bake off was such a frigging painful and tiring experience, especially when u dont wanna replace Sootie as last place. LOL.

this is the current winner. wtffff how to win?? bah.

so Lao Niang went to steal a Marble Cheese Cake recipe from one of my Niang's cookbook.
looks rather simple.

it's actually easy to bake as well, if u are not particular about appearance.

cuz e thing is, it's supposed to look like this:

but Lao Niang's shitty cake looked like this instead:

cracked surface n it's not very cooked. knnccb.

so Lao Niang's Niang suggested putting one more layer of cheese of top to cover e cracks and bake it again so that it's fully cooked.

it looked more decent but still cracked. alr very late and shagged by then so lao niang just threw it into the fridge and went to sleep.

next morning, i went to the fruit stall auntie to buy some strawberries and kiwi to cover the cracks.

so this is the end product. one look and u know i confirm didnt cheat by buying a cake from the bakery. bah. tmd.

results came out, im a 8.00 pointer, that puts me tied at 4th place with another girl's pear pie. well, at least im not last place! bah.

must really thank my boss for giving me such a "wonderful" experience. argh.

hehe we had an inside joke re Rachel's top in this scene. apparently we went Tangs couple weeks back and Leeyaa loved all clothes there with such "retro" prints. LOL.

Rachel and BFF frequented Shake Shack in the movie, i went there too!

uber jet-lagged at that time, but i was there! food's good there too! haha.

my good friend, Apple, is on a job hunt lately. that is when she realised how frigging small the banking world is in Singapore.

Apple's current recruiter turns out to be the same one who brought in 80% of the people in her team.
Recruiter's fiancee is working in Apple's neighbouring department which is about to be merged under one department as Apple's.

Apple was in the same team as a senior 2 years ago, the senior is supposed to mentor Apple but actually taught her nothing and left her to die.
Apple received an interview offer for a role in a department where it is highly possible that the same sucky senior is currently in as well.

Apple has a gum key colleague, Orange.
Orange's friend is quitting his job and asks Orange if she has anyone to refer to take over him, he said he has a good boss.

Apple is extremely enticed cuz she is dying to have a good boss at the moment, hence Orange referred Apple.

Apple found out that Orange's friend is actually her senior back in NTU Hall 3.

bleah. now Apple's just short of finding someone related to her nb new boss.

i have watched enough US dramas/sitcoms to know that the characters will definitely sleep around with each other in the stories. or at least have some romantic feelings for each other.

F.R.I.E.N.D.S. is one of the 1st US sitcoms i watched.

Monica, Ross, Joey, Rachel, Chandler and Phoebe started as F.R.I.E.N.D.S.

then Ross dated Rachel.

Ross and Rachel broke up.

Chandler and Monica got together.

Ross and Rachel had ONS with each other.

Joey fell for Rachel when she was pregnant with Ross' baby after the ONS.

Gossip Girl has one of the most ridiculously slept-around cast of characters.
