the pig at the lion monument

Luzern's famous Lion Monument is a must-go photo stop for tourists. accordingly to Laurence The Tour Leader, the story goes that the town of Luzern held a contest to choose the best sculptor to do this monument to commemorate the Swiss Guards who were massacred during the French Revolution many many years back.

this particular chap won, and was happily thinking he'll be getting a handsome sum of reward for doing the sculpture. but! he was actually paid a meagre sum, and he was unhappy about it, so he sculpted a pig into the monument.

i left see right see, i up see down see, i just cannot see where's the pig. and Laurence was like "*point point* there.... this is the pig's ear... then u see the pointing out bit, that's the pig's nose...."

and i still cant see. klj seemed to have saw. so i asked her where's the pig.

"there.... you see... this part.... is the pig...."

she's referring to the yellow outline.

dont look like to me lor. look more like a fox than pig ahahaha. plus i refuse to accept the fact that klj got it and i didnt. ahahahahahahahah.

so after the photo taking and we boarded the bus, i asked "Laurence, can you show me where's the pig again? *pushes camera into his face* she *points to klj* said it's this part here *draws*"

"no lah not that one! is this one *Laurence draws*"

leopard preens are brown with black outline spots.

jaguar preens (are not black, cuz some bimbos thought they are entirely black. panthers are entirely black) are bigger brown spots with black outline and some black specks in the middle. hurhur educational!

teddy was busy helping me carry 2 iPhones while i work today....

tiny mishap though: nobody told me i have to change to micro sim card from 3GS to 4S and my old sim will be deactivated immediately. so i ended up having no network on my old 3GS where everything is, and having network only on my new 4S which is absolutely empty. felt kinda handicapped almost the whole day, until i got home to sync my new 4S.

m1 should have given me the micro sim adaptor so that i can fall back on the 3GS until i reached home lor. booo~~

swiss water cooler

klj and i were having tea break at Coop City's restaurant in Luzern Switzerland and i was craving to drink some water but a normal 500ml bottle of water costs a frigging CHF4 there.

then i saw this thing....

which looks uber like a drinking tap. i mean, i saw public drinking fountain/taps in Italy but i never really seen any in Luzern. though i was told that the swiss taps are drinkable and i did drink from the swiss tap before this, but i didnt wanna look dumb and drink from this tap in case it is for washing purposes only.

so i waited and waited to see if any locals go to the tap and drink from it. no other souls came close to it for the whole 15min that i spent staring at it.

then i finally buey tahan-ed, took an empty glass, crept to the tap, and filled up half a glass, while praying that nobody saw me doing that in case it's a really stupid act. haha.

and guess wat! once i was back at my table with the glass in hand, locals started going to the tap and drink from it! so that tap is indeed for drinking afterall! ARGH wtf, why dont they drink from it earlier!

thirsty me then went back to the fateful tap for 2 more glasses of swiss tap water. ahhhahaha.

korean 101

my first korean lesson! thanks to ray who alerted me to the Groupon deal! hurhur.

i was surprised that there are actually a handful of guys learning korean in the school i went, but all super young kids lah.

havent practised 习字 for so longgggg sia. though i ended up just trying to write the korean actors' names in hangeul. lols.

buy prada in milan rather than paris

yljj told me price of branded stuffs are all the same across europe, but kljj said it's not. i didnt know who to believe. but when i bought my prada for eur860 in paris i remembered it was cheaper in milan.

indeed, i found this photo of the price tag that i secretly took in prada milan galleria vittorio emanuele branch. it was eur40 cheaper in milan!

BUT! the colour i wanted was out of stock in milan. ALOT of things are out of stock in milan lor. duh.

be careful of gypsy women in italy

our tour mates met one ferocious one outside this hotel we stayed in Milan, called The Hub. it is supposedly a rather atas hotel, btw. 4-5 star.

our bus just reached the hotel and the whole tour group was unloading our luggages. klj and me were lucky cuz we were one of the earliest to collect our luggages and headed off to the hotel lobby so we escaped the whole fiasco.

apparently the middle-aged gypsy women, wearing a characteristic scarf over her head, appeared and unzipped the backpack of one of the male tour mates who was still unloading his luggages, but cant find anything valuable there.

so the gypsy went on to another female tour mate, asked her for money. she refused, so the gypsy tried to push her to one corner, used a big scarf to cover the poor girl's bag and tried to steal valuables from her bag from underneath the scarf.

the poor girl realised what the gypsy was trying to do, retaliated by pushing the gypsy back. they had abit of tug of war, and the poor girl fell onto the floor. and i think that is when the girl's boyfriend and other tour mates came to her rescue cuz the gypsy fled after that. nothing was lost and she wasnt really hurt.

i didnt witness any of these, merely heard from the other tour mates. but it sounds scary enough. and so daring omggggg!

my tour leader was furious to find out, and complained to the hotel staff. but they gave a there-is-nothing-we-can-do-about-it response. haiiiii what is it with italy and their high crime rates?? boooooo~~

fyi, i realised bathtubs europe are generally high afterwards, cuz i nearly fell in the subsequent hotels' bathtubs too. hehz.
