geog lesson 2: where's guam?

watched quite afew MTVs n dramas tat went guam for shooting, n wondered where guam is (abt e sametime i wondered where e caribbean islands are).

United States took control of tis island located in e Philippine Sea (ignore red arrow) in e 1898 Spanish-American War, n it remains as an unincorporated territory of US.

e "America in Asia" has a tropical climate (since it's near us). i tink its nearest US state is Hawaii, as inferred frm e map above. it's on opposite side as US on e map, but u noe, e world is round.

speaks english n chamorro (native lang), uses USD, largest ethnic grp is Chamorros, thrives on tourism (90% jap tourists).

other unincorporated territories of United States are Puerto Rico and Northern Mariana Islands, btw.
