foodies in Gent!

This is a 2 year old post thats been sitting in my drafts! LOL so please pardon how shit I looked in these photos...

read about the roadside Frituur stalls in Belgium and wanted to try, finally found one in Gent!

owner is a really friendly guy who speaks English lols i told him to pose for my pic.

their wide range of snacks! order and they will cook it on the spot!

inexpensive too!

teabreak by the romantic Gent roadside~~ still not too cold then.

see the bowl of brown sauce at the edge of the tray? that is the famous traditional Belgium Stoverijsaus - beef sauce. goes well with fries!

the 4 squarish thingy beside the sauce is the Zigeuner Stick, a type of Schnitzel - German-ish bread crumbled minced meat snack, yums!!

the other thing Belgium is famous for - BEER! my complimentary glass of draft beer at the end of the De Halve Maan Brewery tour, too bitter for my taste though.

this! on the other hand, is sweet and very much to my liking! Belgium fruit beer, wide variety there!

mine's cherry, i think.

what is a trip to Belgium with trying Belgium mussels??? our first pot along De Graslei, super cold but super romantic place~

Belgium mussels are sooooo different from those we have in Singapore, soooooooo much yummier! very sweet very tender! weird thing is not many people around us ordered mussels though.

their garlic prawns also to-die-for!!

i ordered a Hoegarden Rose here too, i think it is better than Kriek's. ahhhh super yummmmmmmmy meal!!!

2nd pot next day, right outside De Halve Maan. equally delish! cholesterol off the charts for the weekend but totally worth it! dont mind going Belgium again just for the food~~ =D
