the politicians kept telling us what they will do for us if they are elected, but there is actually no way we can really make them do what they promised, right?

i forgot which opposition member was proposing to open up our national reserve and distribute it to the people, and Dr Vivian Balakrishnan rebutted by saying our national reserve is like our natural resource, nobody wants to deplete their prized natural resource.

but hor, we dont even know how much exactly is our reserve, how they determine how much to put into the reserve, and how is our reserve being managed leh. no transparency neh.

some PAP minister said the largest growth we experienced in the last 5 years was 7%, that was also when we had the largest number of foreign immigrants. if we were to restrict foreign immigrants, we can only expect lower growth of about 3-5%.

do we really need so much growth? why cant we grow less but be happier and more comfy in our home country with less foreigners? it's normal for developed countries to only get like 1-2% growth every year right? lower growth doesnt mean more of our own people get jobless right?

but i do understand that it is not easy to run a country lah. we have zero natural resources, so having a powerful reserve is important and it is difficult to manage such a huge reserve.

then with such low birth rates in Singapore, if we dont allow foreigners, who is going to replenish the population leh. unless my fellow Singaporeans willing to make more babies lor, i know im not. lols.

n hor, if u tax the rich too much hor, those elitist will migrate to another country before u can even redistribute the money to the poor.

we are where we are now, also lotsa credits to Mr Lee lah. though he is really an arrogant elitist, but he is a uber smart and capable elitist. haha.

Worker's Party - Aljunied GRC Rally on 29 Apr 2011

huge crowd! the grandstand was fully packed and the field was like almost filled at the rally's peak, i think it is the most popular rally this election lor.

the crowd were roaring with cheers once the WP nominees were onstage, lotsa people were waving the WP flags ($2, i bought a 铁锤报 for $5 lols). im honestly surprised by how many spontaneous boos for PAP and cheers for WP the Sg crowd was able to garner.

i stood and listened throughout, 3 hours in total, my legs almost killed me mans. hurhur what passion. i think Mr Low is a pretty good speaker, can see him charming the crowd.

besides him, many other WP members can speak quite well too. Ray's cousin Toh Hong Boon also not bad lols. Chen Show Mao's speech disappointed me though, quite bland.

but hor, i have worked with enough people to know that good speakers not neccesarily mean they have real substance. hahahaha. but i do think that we need more opposition voices in our parliament and WP seems like the best opposition voices we have currently.

Singapore People's Party - Potong Pasir SMC Rally on 30 Apr 2011

it started with a less rousing crowd as compared to the WP rally.

i was feeling a little bored initially.

but once Mr Chiam arrived at the rally, the crowd went crazy! just kept chanting his name lor. im amazed by the amount of support he has.

i just read that at the 2006 GE, PAP dangled a $80m upgrade project bait to the Potong Pasir residents, but 55% of them still voted for Mr Chiam.

and hor, poor Mr Chiam cannot stand straight and speak loudly nor clearly, so his speech was really short. but even so, the crowd just followed Mr Chiam all the way to the carpark after the rally ended. in a loyal manner, not a paparazzi manner.

it was like he's the hero of Potong Pasir sia. i felt this truly showed his popularity with the people lor, and i can really feel his passion for politics. pei fu pei fu~

however hor, i really dont think he will be fit enough to hold a seat in my country's parliament for the next 5 years, and his wife is not really up to par imho. and generally SPP's members dont seem as outstanding as WP's.

as usual, poor Beefie was dragged there by me. and he was trying to take a picture of Mr Chiam closeup while he was being mobbed by the voters after the rally....

that was the best he managed to capture of Mr Chiam. lols.

every girl dreams of a royal wedding

The Royal Wedding day is a stipulated UK bank holiday as well, so my office was exceptionally empty and light-hearted on the day. we were mostly glued to the tv the whole day ahahha.

there was even a speed dial number where we can hear the live BBC broadcast from, in case the stereo in the tv broke down (which is what happened to our tv =_= )

nice dress! the buzz is all around the dress mans. how many people can get Sarah Burton to design their wedding dress lor.

unfortunately i left office for the Worker's Party rally before the newly crowned Duchess of Cambridge arrived at Westminister Abbey, but im going to catch The Royal Kiss during the repeat on Ch5 tonight!

even the reception dress is purrfectly beautiful! or is it just the case that as long as the bride is beautiful, any gown she wears will be beautiful? hurhur.

if she's not pretty, will P.William fall in love with her???

IDT presentation

so many things happening end of this week! let's start from my solo presentation this Thu 28 Apr.

KLJ aka the paparazzi secretly took some photos of me while presenting. hurhur. i feel like a superstar! LOLs.

the presentation was basically on IDT, the main task that i have been doing, to let the other Ledger Controllers know more about it.

my bosses feedbacked that content is pretty good. my peers all fell asleep at some point during the presentation but i dont blame them cuz the content was really q dry at some parts, i wld have fallen asleep too. ahahaha.

it was also KLJ's last day of service that day, but she still very supportively made it to the presentation! awww love u deep deep, KLJ! lols.

realised i dont have any of the farewell pictures i took with her on her last day, Timbre photos to substitute. she's 2nd on the left. ahahaha.

it's customary for resignees to buy the whole dept somethings on their last day, KLJ bought durian puffs from Goodwood Park! YUMS! but made the whole office very smelly hahaha.

Good Saturday, i went to his fan meeting concert at NUS UCC! it's called the Cri Show, Cri for Critical. *scratches head too* lols

skinny and fatty pig-rabbit went to watch him as well! hurhur.

photography and videography were not allowed inside the concert, the following 2 pictures were lifted out from fansite.

the concert kicked started off with his new song "Let Me Cry", followed by the very popular "My Bus" song. he was wearing a simple black suit white shirt black skinny tie, looking oh-so-frigging charming! LOLs.

then there was a short live interview with him, with him showing fans pictures in his upcoming pictorial book done in Europe.

then he changed into what Kang Mu Gyeol would wear in Marry Me Mary: tattered jeans, bohemian top and lotsa punk accessories. this was the 1st part of the concert, the characters in his dramas.

proceeded to sing "My Precious" but the wrong tape was played. JKS insisted on singing live, so we had to wait afew moments before the wrong tape was played and he can sing it live. the last song as Kang Mu Gyeol was "Hello Hello".

next up, he changed into a brown leopard print top a la Hwang Tae Gyung in You Are Beautiful and picked 3 lucky girls to receive a hug and memorabilia from him after answering some very difficult questions about the drama.

i think he sang "I Will Promise You" from the YAB OST. he went down the stage for the 1st time when he sang it, lucky front row fans! awwww~

2nd part of the concert was themed: night life JKS. there was a special guest DJ Big Brother, and JKS appeared in all white with blings clubbing wear.

they sang a couple clubbing songs which i dont know names of hahaha. must say JKS does look like a natural clubber though.

the fans got really high at this part of the concert, all stood and dance. at one point, sabbie was like "so we pay to see him club??" LOLs.

think he was promoting some album lah, clubbing themed Lounge H. he does look hoT clubbing anyways fwahahaha.

JKS changed into a "I <3 (something)" tee and came out with Big Brother for a short encore by simply repeating one of the clubbing number i think. then poof! some confetti and that concluded the concert, no more encore cuz he was apparently nursing a cold.

why do singers always use the overused "caught a cold" excuse before a performance anyways. im sure my beloved JKS can sing live alright. hurhur.

that is the only shot i've gotten inside the hall, at the end of the concert.

what i can say is his money is really easy to earn. hahaha. but oh well, i still love him deep deep and im sure Sabbie does too!

started on a very Good Friday at the autograph session!

unfortunately that was the closest i got to him. getting an autograph from him face to face costs $68 and it's all sold out already. duh. sibeh know how to earn money.

look at the crowd! dont pray pray ah.

i dragged Beefie with me and we waited for 1 hour before he finally arrived!

snap snap snap! all the crazy fans!

FYI, me and Beefie were NOT EVEN REMOTELY CLOSE to be the oldest age category of fans there, and i definitely did not scream remotely as much/loud as the others hor.

his fan club members were just right infront of me, and they performed a little silly dance for him, so he was facing us for a long while muahahaha.

BUT! MY CAMERA SUCKS! either that or Beefie's photography sucks! i think it's the latter though. sigh, and i thought getting Beefie to be the photographer is a good idea cuz he's tall......

by the way, im baffled by what he wore as well. it's a black oversized shirt with some brown/grey motifs funny strip of cloth infront, secured by a grey spandex waist hugger thingy which looks like a bandage. honestly weird.

after a short interview where he answered entirely in passable english (yays), he sat down for the autograph session which took about an hour.

a lucky china fan was bold enough to ask for a hug and he kindly obliged! he also hugged the last autographed fan damn tight and long lah, sibehhhh envious!

then it was the photograph session, $48/pax to take photo with him and 29 other fans.

he had to go in and wait for the 30 fans to position themselves before coming out and standing in the middle for the photo. 10x for 300 fans.

once the photo was taken, the fans immediately mobbed him to the extent that security had to extract him out from the fans' evil paws. =__=

i was standing really close to the stage, probably just 3m away from him nearest when he walked down. i was dazzled by his sparkling smile! love his perfect face! awww~~~
