Q's Nails Q3 2014

Jun was this:

Actually this is because i begged Zen to let me do her nails and she sent me her wish:

But i didnt manage to do her nails in the end so i did on my own haha.

Jul was this for my Japan trip!

Combination of a variety of Jappy designs sourced from internet hee. Top left is mine, in case u cant tell -_-

Aug was butterfliessss:

Copied from this:

Not a fan of live butterflies after being traumatised by this Mediacorp horror show 迷离夜 when i was a kid, but i quite like butterfly designs.

Managed to lure a friend to come to my house and let me do her nails and she wanted the same butterfly design! Top is hers, bottom is my wrinkly hand.

Sep was galaxy!

Sibehhhh chio, right?? Matches my wallpaper!

Ok thats not my phone but i do have the same wallpaper haha.

Hottest nail design lately, took inspiration from afew nail artists but mainly from this Drama Queen:

Love my galaxy nails the most! U??

been a year, but finally found out who u are!

remember this guy that we saw at a certain ulu Mango Six in a certain atas Seoul neighbourhood who seems like a celebrity but we have simply zero idea who he is??

i saw him again while watching Man From the Stars! he cameo-ed as bag shop owner whom Jun Ji Hyun was trying to sell her bags to.

Jung Yoon Ki, famous stylist in Korea. um no Wikipedia page on him though, can only find this old article of him on Yahoo! Philippines haha totally explains why we have no idea who he is =X

Japanese convenience food

i was very intrigued by the amount of drinks vending machines they have all over Japan.

yes, i know we have drinks vending machines here too, but its just different in Japan! their drinks are so much more interesting! haha.

i bought ice peach calpis (yums), ice coffee (too diluted), ice oolong tea (tastes just like oolong ahaha). but my favorite cheap thrill is finding machines that sells JPY100 mineral water! they are usually JPY120 or 110. ahahaha.

interesting food in convenience store too! the rice balls, rice rolls, rice bentos.

and this! instant Japanese clam soup! omg!

sorry bad picture, unable to capture the tiny clams inside. cooool~~

bento shops in train stations! we bought one thinking we can do picnic at Fushimi Inari Shrine, but actually no picnic area there =__=

ended up just sitting on a stone and gobbling up bento. tastes pretty good though it was refrigerated food! sorry no photo of the bento, was too hungry ahaha.

Japanese magazines

are damn efficient, i found this in an Osaka bookstore just 2 days after Germany won the World Cup!

but what i love most is the variety of nail magazines available!

sooooo many designs! from different nail technicians all over Japan (or so i deduced from the few kanji words that i recognised, and the few English words in the mag)

and also step by step nail art if you would like to learn!

i was very tempted to buy but they are expensive (at least sgd8) and cheapo me figured i can browse nail designs and nail tutorials for free from Instagram or Youtube.

but after i failed to get any Bao Baos, i went into a crazy buy-everything-else-instead mode.

and bought this! (and also 4 pairs of shoes, one load of beauty stuffs, some dresses and tops, etc etc LOL)

love it! but um, no idea where is the magazine now ahahaha.

look! they have MALE nail techniciansss in Japan! how cool is that. i had my mani done by a guy in Bangkok before, but he is a tranny so not counted lols.

there was no Bao Bao..........

on my 2nd last day in Japan, i was horrified to find out that the Bao Bao counter in Takashimaya Nanba was all wiped out.

like seriously?!?!

and the sales assistant was trying to tell me that i cant take pictures, its just empty shelves with no Bao Baos at all why cant i take pics!?!??!?!??! argh.

apparently stocks were renewed everyday but its sold out everyday, and she wasnt able to tell me exactly which bags will be available tomorrow.

the only Bao Baos she can show me is via their catalog and i can only take a pic of it off her ipad. wtf.

tremendously horrified. i mean, i know the bag is v pops lately but i didnt expect it to be THIS pops!

so next day aka my last day in Japan, i went at 945am before Taka's doors even open!

i picked the elevator which i thought was closest to the Bao Bao counter at Level 4, and dashed in once the departmental store opened at 10am (salute the Japanese for precision punctuality)!

turns out, that elevator is the one furthest to the Bao Bao counter FML. i had to brisk walk through the entire floor with EVERY sales assistant bowing to me "ohaiyo gozaimasu". its quite a wonderful experience having a person every 5metres greeting u like a VVVVVIP in a JDrama, but i can hardly enjoy the warm welcome.

TADAH! ffffffffffff, im already the 20th person!! AND THERE WERE ONLY 10 BAO BAOS AVAILABLE THAT DAY WTFFFFFF. #epicfail

i tried asking the Bao Bao sales assistant, in my version of Japanised English, if these 19 people ahead of me found a secret passage into the counter earlier, he said "no, they run hayaku hayaku at 10am". and at least half of these 19 people look like the typical poised Japanese ladies, very hard for me to imagine they cheonging damn tak glamly for a bag.

so, i didnt even get to so much as touch a single Bao Bao and had to leave Japan on a sad note. #UPSET

this is the Bao Bao i wanted. wow USD720! it was just JPY28,000 there! SGD460 in the Forum Singapore store, and its sold out in Singapore until next year! GOSH, SERIOUSLY.

which finger do u think will last longest?

ring finger, always.

still ring finger for left hand toos.

stickers are damn lousy! they are so pretty but they fall out so easily!

this is barely 18 hours after they are done! and by end of day only the one on the ring finger is left. BAH.

HAHA just realised the title sounds abit wrong! LOL!

#firstworldproblem

the owner of a new gorgeous red trapeze bag was barely 10 steps out of the Causeway Bay SOGO store when the lovely sales assistant came running up behind her

"Miss! I just realised its raining outside, can u please let me waterproof your paper bag??"

actually the bag is already in a plastic bag, then dust bag, then paper bag, so no reason for plasticking the paper bag. but apparently this is because the paper bag is supposed to be highly valued. omg.

and this is the oh-so-beautiful trapeze~~

major love for Dotonbori!

went Osaka last week and stayed in Dotonbori area, love how vibrant the area is!

love the area both day and night!

lotsa good food in the area too: best Japanese crabs ever!

Kani Doraku
1-6-18 Dotonbori, Chuo Ward, Osaka, Osaka Prefecture 542-0071, Japan

the bbq claws they sell at their outdoor stall is soso nia, but the crab lunch/dinner set inside the spacious restaurant is wonderful!

famous crabby signboard, u wont miss it!

best pancakes ever!

doutonbori ZERO cafe
道頓堀1-6-14 (平松ビル2F), 大阪市中央区Ōsaka-fu, Japan

too yums, already mangled by the time i remember to take a picture of it haha.

its at this ulu 2nd floor cafe along the Kani Doraku stretch.

best gyoza!

Gyoza King
multiple branches in Dotonbori itself, this one that i went to is again along the Kani Doraku stretch.

the soups are too salty for my palate but the gyoza is yums, juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside, skin is of the right thickness. and cheap! but dont expect excellent service for the price.

oops no photos of my hotel but its Hotel Vista Grande Osaka, right smacked in the red light district just behind the vibrant Dotonbori area hahaha. if u dont mind walking through all the pimps to reach the hotel then it is a really value for money hotel.
