i feel your pain

during early onset, u had to sit beside grandpa thru e nite to watch after him because u were so worried,
i feel your pain.

when his illness worsened, grandpa took off his prized rosary n flung it away in front of u in a moment of exasperation,
i feel your pain.

when u signed e Do Not Resuscitate form because u knew grandpa wld not want to live on life support,
i feel your pain.

having to transfer grandpa frm A class ward to C class ward because u think that u cannot afford it,
i feel your pain.

because we do not have sufficient resources at home to look after grandpa hence we had to send him to live with my well-to-do auntie instead,
i feel your pain.

having to witness wat an arduous task it is for every breath tat grandpa takes during e last days of his life,
i feel your pain.

making futile attempts to cure the bruises caused by needles inserted into grandpa's arms by rubbing ointment,
i feel your pain.

noticing how grandpa is losing weight at an accelerating speed,
i feel your pain.

not being able to arrive in time before grandpa stopped breathing,
i feel your pain.

e insurmountable grief when u said ur final goodbye to grandpa before e casket is closed,
i feel your pain.

having to see grandpa's personal belongings being burned into ashes along with e paper house for his afterlife as part of e rituals,
i feel your pain.

putting ur hand on e glass pane of e casket car while walking grandpa on his last journey frm home,
i feel your pain.

watching how grandpa's casket is being cremated frm e viewing gallery,
i feel your pain.

collecting your 89-year-old father's remains n to realise tat all tats left of him are juz brittle ashes,
i feel your pain.

i feel your pain, papa, even tho i didnt tell u.

shifu commented tat life is indeed fragile, after u've passed on, all u've become is a pile of ashes tat can be crushed easily to fit into e urn. how true~
