1) most of e things here looks exactly like on tv. small quiet towns, pretty houses, beach full of bikini-clad girls (not e same as bikini babes), small town bar, etc. exactly like on tv. tats why i kept saying "tis is so american!" during my early wks here. haha~

2) i concluded tat e older e ppl here get, e fatter dey become. tats cuz i've observed tat skinny ppl are mostly teenagers n kids. it's sad how fat these ppl are man, like even tho they are not veriii old but they move like ah beks.

3) their horrible diet probably explains why these ppl are so fat. their food is 90% of e time too salty/sweet/oily. tink i've mentioned tis alotta times le, but juz wanna re-emphasise. e amt of fat ppl here is amazing, there were soooo many instances of guests getting rejected on rides cuz they'r so fat they cant fit into e seats. my goodness~

4) a typical hispanic here is generally better looking than a typical white. e whites all look e same to me lorz, blond with coloured eyes lorz. but e hispanics all look exotic n charming, in my opinion.

5) their coins r named differently. instead of 10cents/20cents, they named em quarters (25c) n dimes (10c). in e beginning i had such a hard time figuring out e right amt to pay lah.

6) they oso use diff units of measure. there was once i asked for 200 grams of mozzarella n the lady juz looked at me dumbfoundedly. they use ounces/pounds instead of kilograms, fahrenheit instead of deg cel, miles/feet/inches instead of km/m/cm.

7) even their paper size is different. their typical paper (right) is shorter n fatter than our A4 (left).

seriously trying veri hard 2b different huh. no wonder e SMU ppl fit in so well here. LoL~

8) to travel/live in e states, u muz be prepared to walk alot. we'r walking everyday lorz. in sg i took buses juz for a few stops, but here i hafta walk those few stops cuz there's simply no bus. e ppl here mostly drive cuz car is damn cheap, tats why there's no bus for short distances.

9) there's no lights on their highways lorz. highways are illuminated by those cone thingies tat reflect light frm vehicles' headlights n by lights frm e billboards. super scary. but e local drivers seem 2b handling it veri well.

10) e temperature here fluctuates drastically, tink i've said tis b4. there was once when i left e hse in e day at 30 deg cel, but returned home at nite at 17 deg cel. crazy.

11) e ppl here are dumb. dey dont understand simple english instructions like "pls leave ur slippers there". dumb. mayb it's e air here, makes ppl dumb. stimes i yell till bek chek but they still nv budge. wth~

12) im becoming v proficient at faking e american accent. tats cuz e ppl here are dumb, dey cant understand simple english instructions unless i say em using e american accent. dey are dumb. but e fun part comes when i use e fake american accent to irritate my partner at work. muahahaha~

1st world ctry??

i juz reached dorm n bathed lorz.

started work at 11am tis morning, knocked off at 12am lorz.

n e worst thing: i get 3 breaks throughout e whole 13hr-shift, 15min-30min-15min. cant even have a decent meal lorz, 30min eat wat shit! n there's no cheap food anywhere near my workplace! wth.

walk frm my workspot to food store - 5min
buy food - 5min
food store to employees' corner (we can oni eat in designated areas) - 5min
employees' corner back to my workspot - 5min
remaining time left to eat - 10min

wtf, cant even eat in peace lahz. if tis goes on i'll get indigestion man.

i tot tis is a 1st world ctry?? do they not noe tat ppl need sufficient time to eat n rest?? when i was working 13hr in sg (which is not a 1st world ctry), i get 1hr of lunch n 1hr of dinner lorz.

damn tired. im underpaid n overworked, juz like e banglahs in sg. wtf~

e problem of living in USA

(felt so guilty abt neglecting my blog for e past few days, been so tired n busy lately. i worked 6 days a week, n for my single off day i spent 16+hrs travelling to/fro n in washington dc.)

e weather

it's so irritating, cuz it fluctuates drastically. in e day e sun is veri scorching, but e wind is veri cold.

it's so easy to get tanned cuz of e sun, but yet e wind is making e weather veri dry. so in e end i've got tanned n dry skin. all i ever get was tanned n oily skin in sg lorz.

n e temperature drops frm abt 20 deg cel in e afternoon to abt 10 deg cel at nite. oh yeah, tat sucks too.

nite beauty regime in e states

(1) facial cleansing oil to remove the concealer applied in the morning (see morning beauty regime).

(2) facial cleanser.

(3) facial moisturiser to fight the dry weather.

(4) eye gel to moisturise my eye and mouth areas.

(5) body moisturiser

(6) cuticle cream

oni (2) daily, e rest are applied only occasionally.

(a) eye cream with spf, to prevent my dark eye circles from getting even darker due to the sun.

(b) sunblock for e face, cuz i get dark veri veri easily. sianz~

(c) lip balm for my super chapped lips. but tis lip balm juz perished in e washing machine. =(

(d) concealer for my dark eye circles. scorching sun => needa protect eyes => needa wear sunglasses => needa wear contact lenses => needa wear concealer cuz of my horrible dark eye circles.

oni (a) daily, never (b) & (c). (d) oni when i dress up.

e problem

- im alwayz contemplating whether to layer up my clothing in e day. e scorching sun makes layering excessive, but yet e cold wind makes layering justified. so in e end, i alwayz wear a windbreaker, it blocks wind n prevents suntan. hoho~

- sunblock in e day will make my face oily n pimples will break out, but w/o sunblock i'll get tanned.

- moisturiser at nite will over-nourish my face, causing pimples. but w/o moisturiser my face will peel. tink tats cuz my skin is oily on e inside, dry on e outside. hehz~

- wearing concealer will make my face peel even more cuz face will get drier, but if i wanna wear sunglasses i need concealer.

- stimes i wear cap so tat i can block e sun n need not wear sunglasses n concealer, but i'll get ugly "cap hair" after prolonged hours of cap-wearing.

e states is a ctry full of dilemmas. haha~

my dad sent me an email! n it's so cute n farnie. i tink it's my dad who wrote e email cuz nobody else calls me "dear".

come to tink of it, my dad alwayz calls me "dear" n "bao bei" lehz. damn mushy rite? tink none of my frens' dads are tat mushy. hahaha~

i was grumpily sweeping the freaking sandy floor of this particular ride when i happened to look down. and there they are, at one godforsaken corner of the pier. they were quietly weeding the sand, no sound at all. so romantic. wahahahaha~

it's seriously veri hilarious lehz, i laughed until i pengz everytime i tot of it. but all the others don find it farnie lehz. -_-

it is a temporary departure lahz, 3 mths oni.

anywayz, im on a super tight schedule cuz of e impending departure sia. too little time n too much things!

1stly, i had my last meal in ntu last fri at NIE canteen. dar n me were mugging for our AA306 module at e NIE library n it was totally empty can, everybody's having hols le lorz. sianz~

a typical meal at NIE, grilled fish spaghetti + kopi gao (thick). yum! NTU ppl shd go try their grilled fish spaghetti at least once!

e mosquitoes at NIE oso had a sumptious lunch...

see e swollen part pointed by e arrow? tats e masterpiece of e NIE mosquito. i killed it tho. muahahaha~

then after mugging in e day, i met up with my BP gang. they gave me a surprise bdae celebration sia. nv spent such an early bdae b4, but still, was damn sweet of em. love u ppl!

hong: eh wat cake is nice at secret recipe huh? my mum is at IMM n she ask me wat i wan.

packed my stuffs till 6am tis morning lorz, like 6hrs of packing??? crazy! there's soooo many things lahz, terrible.

i have no idea how im gonna move such a gigantic luggage up n down. haiz~

my plane's leaving in 5hrs' time n im having a stomach of butterflies lahz. e missing singapore part is still alright, cuz oni 3mths mahz. it's e apprehension lorz.

im apprehensive about plane crashes, pile-ups n roller coaster tragedies (e consequence of watching e whole series of final destination). im worried tat e weather there will be too freaking cold, tat i'll feel sick on e 17hr flight, tat nobody will pick us up at e bus interchg, tat there's no housing for us, tat we'll get robbed, blahblahblah.

1) im stunned by e size of e crowd at e rallys man. humongous.

at 1st sight, i tot rain (e korean hottie) was in singapore for a concert lorz. haha~

heard 10k ppl went for e 1st WP rally by low thia khiang. 10k!!

ok mayb majority of e ppl are juz there cuz they'r curious abt wat e opposition can criticise abt PAP, but i din expect soooo many curious singaporeans. i tot we'r all bo chup ppl.

2) speaking of low thia khiang, i tink he's an pretty impressive speaker. he can get e message across, speaks with e right amt of passion (tink chee soon juan), n he speaks well.

i was watching e ch8 news e other day, where each political party sends a rep to present their proposal to e audience. most of em cant speak mandarin for nuts lahz, esp gerald sng n wong kan seng. cant make out wat they'r tokin abt man.

3) e supporters at e rallys are damn gungho lehz. they carry colourful banners/posters to e rallys, with words like "gan kim yong we love u", "WP is e best", blahblah. they oso chant things like, "CHIAM SEE TONG... SURE WIN .... all the way....!!!!!!!". cool~

also, it's been proven tat e oppositions alwayz speak more aggressively, while e PAP alwayz speak in a veri slowwwww n relaxeddddd wayyyyyy.

see, e oppositions even have e same 激动 figure-pointing pose. haha~

4) saw frm e rallys tat those ppl actually used our colloquial singlish in their speech. they used phrases like "wah lau!" n "bo liao...wu liao". i tot e government is promoting speak gd english n mandarin??? haha~

5) he was doing his walkabout in e neighbourhood, shaking everybody's hands n all...

but will there be anyone who juz refuse to shake his hands? tat will be sooooo embarrassing man, imagine rejecting a high ranking government official when he offers u a hand shake! wahahaha~

there was once when tung chee hwa offered his handshake to a heartlander uncle, tat uncle actually shook his head n rejected his handshake! all capture on tv man. how how embarrassing. wld love to see it happen to e MM. wahahaha~

6) when i was at e "developing nations need to ctrl population growth" part of my political econs notes, i asked my mum, "isit true tat e gov realli restricted birth in e past?"

my mum gave an affirmative answer n started cursing u-noe-who for setting government policies tat gives preferential treatment to e offsprings of educated elites. i tried to tell her tats cuz e gov wanted to upgrade human capital n grow e economy, move singapore's pdts up e value chain, blahblah.

but my mum juz simply dismissed my pol ec theories n continued cursing u-noe-who. -_-

7) steve chia is greatly admired by me. despite e news tat he'd created, he's still coming out to contest gan kim yong.

but are e majority of e cck electors able to accept n condone his, ermz, exotic behaviour??

8) e PM kept using e progress package to entice e electors. but com'on lehz, wat so great abt it, it's afterall my own money lorz.

but i tink e retailers are damn happy with e progress package. last wkend e whole of JP was packed like nobody's biz lahz. everybody's out to spend e "free money".

ting said when she was at cck someone frm SDA shook her hand n said sth like, "hello. tis calender is for u. pls vote for me."

ok if it's put tis way, then e $800 progress package ting received is much much more attractive than e calender card. LoL~

9) besides using e progress package to lure singaporeans away frm e oppositions, e PAPs oso kept rubbing into e gomez incident. it's so fan lahz, seriously cannot tolerate any mistakes lehz em.

im surprised tat e usually composed PAPs made sarcastic remarks like, "we don tell lies, unlike some ppl". wow~

but e attention on e gomez incident seems to have made gomez veri well-known instead. higher exposure = more votes? ahh wateva.

10) these lorrys are damnnnn cute lahz. soooo bloody cute.

extremely old-school, but yet pretty effective n cost-efficient. see it in action!

it can even be used against e oppositions when they park on e double yellow line. haha~
