arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport...

did u see yul's reflection off e glass? cool pic lehz, no? haha~
it's a pretty small airport, but surprisingly modern. cambodian nationals can use e automated clearance at immigrations, like us singaporeans in changi.

din realli get a gd look at e airport, we were whisked into e taxi at lightning speed by e over-zealous driver. hehz~

our 2 star
New York Hotel! i booked on asiarooms.com de. muz say it's better than i expected.

but still not as fantastic as san teh (e hotel i stayed in china) lahz, of cuz. wont reco ppl to stay in tis hotel.

e street facing our hotel. feels veri 'a-simple-life', uncommercialised.
in fact, i dont even rem seeing any bldg tats taller than 10 storeys there lorz.

1st stop:
Royal Palace!it feels v much like bangkok's royal palace, but with less grandeur.

e
Silver Pagoda (Wat Preah Keo), which is so named cuz it has 5000 silver tiles on its floor, but i dont tink i saw 5000 of em. hmmm.
it oso houses an emerald buddha in it, said 2b made of baccarat crystal. looks gorgeous, but cant take photo.

at e entrance of Silver Pagoda. alot alot of angmoh tourists ahz. alotta french ppl.

e other side of e palace was opened to e public later than usual cuz e king was there.
how cool, i was in e palace at e same time as e cambodian king! haha~

not hard to guess tat cambodia was under french influence right? e palace's design has a tinge of french in it.
i love e garden, beautiful~

towards e end of our visit, me n yul started to feel tat all e bldgs in e palace look e same. haha~
lunch outside e palace, alotta restaurants along e Tonle Sap River (palace is v near e river).

e restaurant in e middle with e white canopy,
Happy Herb Pizza, sells pizza with marijuana it in lehz. how cool. but we nv try tho. heh~
Khmer Borane Restaurant, e restaurant along e river tat
Lonely Planet aka our
holy bible strongly recommended, author's pick.
we ordered e dishes tat LP recommended...

but they'r all shit lorz, food SUCKS. e most YUCKY meal we had in cambodia lorz. concluded tat LP is NOT 100% credible. bah~
National Museum! it's e oni red terracotta bldg i saw in cambo, if im not wrong.
admission USD3 (SGD4.5). actually we cant realli appreciate e exhibits, mayb cuz we nv hire a guide to explain things to us.
there's realli nth much in there except buddha statues, alot of statues.
i took a photo of tis statue cuz it's e most complete statue i've seen in e museum.
in fact, tats e most complete statue i've seen for my 5 days' stay in cambodia.
most of e statues i've seen there are broken n damaged lorz. aiya cant help it oso, so many yrs of war n unrest mahz.
tats e statue of one of e past khmer king (i tink). secretly took a photo of it cuz it's so animatedly carved, i tot it's real lorz. vv lifelike.
e museum's courtyard, so tranquil tat me n yul took a 30min afternoon nap on their stone bench lorz. LOL~ buey tahan~
okay tats all for part 1 of our 1st day in cambo, part 2 coming up!~
