we wandered around e national museum area, n came across a mkt which i still cant identify on e map....
it's realli like a wet pasar kind. sells raw meat, fish, veggies, fruits, etc. like hw retro~
interesting sight: tis uncle is not selling ordinary duck eggs lorz.
tats actually a half-hatched fertilized egg (bong dia gon). kinda like a typical cambodian food lidat, it's all over e streets.
yul bot one n tried. we cld see e feathers n eyes of e baby duck lorz. omg. it was quite an overwhelming sight for me.
but she oni ate e egg yolk part n said it tasted like e usual salted duck egg. hmmm~
n it's pretty much e full pkg we get in sg lorz. dirt cheap. but it's juz a small roadside stall in e wet mkt lahz, nt as comfy. oh well~
Tonle Sap River, that famous river in Phnom Penh tat devoured 5 Singaporean dragonboaters v recently.
we sat along e river n nua-ed abit, taking a break frm all e monuments n statues....
b4 embarking on a boat ride along e Tonle Sap River and Mekong River (these 2 rivers r sorta interconnected).
e ride wasnt cheap, USD15 (SGD22) for 1hr for 2 pax. we had e whole boat to ourselves tho.
sunset starts at 530 in cambodia, dark by 6pm. we were juz in time to catch sunset along e rivers.
but seriously, nth much interesting to see during e boat ride lorz.
except for tis quite breathtaking sight, i guess. tats Phnom Penh, riverfront. tat shd be e most vibrant part of e city.
dinner at Titanic Restaurant! it's situated right beside e tourist boat deck, where we alight frm e boat ride.
food is extremely gd, esp as compared to e yucky lunch at Khmer Borane earlier in e day.
we ordered khmer chicken hotpot n duck skewers. both were absolutely tasty! tink we spent abt USD16 (SGD24) there, reasonable price for excellent food.
e restaurant looks like a wat somemore, nice ambience. a tad cold tho, vast day/nite temperature difference in cambodia.
tis restaurant is a popular one, lotsa angmohs n rich cambodians patronise it. why did Lonely Planet feature Khmer Borane but not Titanic?? hehz~
finally, a great meal! khmer food can taste great too, afterall. hehe~
